The Seraphim

The highest order of angels, the highest created order.  They protect, minister, and worship God around His throne.  They have 6 wings.  From the Hebrew root word "sarap" (fiery), they are the angels of divine fire, love and light. It is said that there are four Seraphim surrounding God's throne, where they burn eternally from their love and zeal for God (see Isa. 6:2-4). Such a bright light emanates from them, they are associated with the colour of white.  They are worshippers and this is what they were created for.  Worship is their primary purpose and inheritance.  They burn with love for God, with passion. 


Learn what it means to minister to God.  We receive by giving to God first (the upside-down kingdom).  What can I give Him? (a painting, an inheritance, my land...)  Our inheritance is Him.  See also Ezekiel 1.

"Seraphim", literally "burning ones", is one of a class of celestial beings mentioned once in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh or Old Testament), in Isaiah. Later Jewish imagery perceived them as having human form, and in that way they passed into the ranks of Christian angels. In the Christian angelic hierarchy, seraphim represent the highest rank of angels.

The Seraphim make their first Christian appearance in the Book of Revelation iv. 4-8, where they are forever in God's presence and praising Him constantly: "Day and night with out ceasing they sing: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. --Wikipedia
